ABOUT
Ellivo, aka Alex Yeates (Oxford, °1998), is a reworked designer whose work focuses on reconstructing and reimagining caps through both physical and conceptual processes.
Originally driven by experimentation, Yeates began exploring how everyday objects could be taken apart and rebuilt into something new. What started as curiosity — cutting, reshaping, and combining caps — developed into a distinct creative practice centred around transformation and identity.
Each Ellivo piece is constructed by hand, merging multiple caps into a single form. Staples, seams, and imperfections are left visible, reflecting the process behind the work rather than hiding it. The result is a series of one-of-one pieces that sit between fashion and object.
Ellivo is built on three core ideas: lateral thinking, longevity, and evolving. Seeing things differently, creating with intention, and allowing each piece — and the person wearing it — to change over time.
What began as an experiment has grown into an ongoing body of work, with each cap acting as both a standalone piece and part of a wider exploration of reconstruction and individuality.
Ellivo continues to develop through process, with no two pieces ever the same.
